Teacher Forced to Resign Over Content of her Facebook Page
A former Georgia teacher was forced to resign after the principal of the school she was employed at concluded her Facebook page was inappropriate. To be specific, the two things he was concerned about was the fact that she was holding beer and wine, and the fact that she said the word B****. The "expletive" was used in reference to a restaurant she was going to that featured a game called "Crazy B**** Bingo."

I'm going to go out on a limb to say that the teacher and the principle probably did not a have a good relationship before this incident and more likely the principle had some ill will towards the teacher. Considering that today, online social networking becoming is a part of peoples daily lives, I would think that a higher court would argue with the the plaintiff.
Unless there was something in the teachers contract that had rules and regulations for social networking websites, she should not have been forced to resign. As far as the teacher having a beer, i feel as long as she is at least 21 then so what! And in in terms of the word "B****", it would have been different if she was calling someone that but it was the name of bingo.
To me, the only thing the principal should've done was recommended the teacher to take those things off her page due to the type of position she held. I am pretty sure what was on the teacher's facebook page did not affect her performance at work.
